Publication Day of Granite Harbor by Peter Nichols

I went into this audiobook blind, having barely read the synopsis, and I was actually surprised at how much I liked it. The beginning was slow, but the plot needed to be laid out. There are a lot of characters and I like that the book took the time to go through each one in a non tedious way. The middle picked up and it really made me enjoy the book. I also ended up being okay with the narrator, even though I wasn’t a fan of all of the voices he chose to use for some of the characters (the main police detective is supposed to be from England and there wasn’t a real British-y accent).

Thank you to Netgalley, Peter Nichols and Celadon for allowing me to listen to this ALC.

Publication Day of The Stranger by Kiersten Modglin

My go to quick read/listen author is Kiersten Modglin. Lately I feel like her books have been hit or miss with me, but this one was absolutely a HIT! I really enjoyed this domestic thriller! It was eerie and kept you on the edge of your seat the entire time. I liked that the book was a quick listen as well. It make the urgency of the plot feel like it was a matter of life and death… because it was! I absolutely loved each narrator. They all made their part of the book all the more enjoyable!

Publication Day of She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica

Mary Kubica is an author I am just getting into. Her books really suck you in to the plot and don’t let go… but not this one. I wanted to like this book so bad, but the plot holes and the mundane plot points irked me to no end. I struggled to this one and almost stopped reading it twice.

Thanks to Netgalley and Park Row for allowing me to read this ARC.

Publication Day of The Wife You Know by Chad Zunker

I am all about face paced books and this one was action packed! I like Zunker’s writing style, it really pulls me in to the story. Sure, the MMC of the story did some wild and stupid things to move the plot along, but I overlooked it because I was so engrossed in the story. The man just wanted to find his wife and step daughter!
I think the ending was lackluster, and it feels like this book could be the start of a series with how it ended.

Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for allowing me to read this ARC.

Publication Day of The Guest by B.A. Paris

I liked this book, but thought the story was way too long. I was all about the ending though, that was a major plot twist! I did not suspect this person at all during the story, so when it was revealed I was like “whhhaaattttt”. I normally guess the person beforehand so this was a nice surprise.

This was the first time I listened to the narrator, Emily Joyce, and I would listen to more audiobooks narrated by her.

Thanks to Netgalley and Macmillan for allowing me to listen to this ALC.

Publication Day of Last Night by Luanne Rice

This is the review I posted on Storygraph: I was very intrigued by this plot. I liked that there were multiple points of view, it gave more insight into the mystery of who murdered Madeline. I thought I had figured out who the killer was about halfway through and found out around the time of the twist that I was wrong. So props to this author for keeping me on my toes the entire book!

Publication Day of Only If You’re Lucky by Stacy Willingham

This is the review I posted on Storygraph: This book is such a slow paced book and I was not here for it! I wasn’t surprised about anything that happened in the story, and I would say what was supposed to be the twists weren’t a twist to me. I honestly just could not wait for this long, drawn out story to be over with. I did not care about what happened to Margot’s best friend or why she did not like the boy next door.
