The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

This is Book 2 in the Villains series and I’m liking the book so far.

Going in blind on this audiobook, thanks to the always awesome Macmillan Audio Influencer Program!

I’ve been a busy bee, listening and reading my heart out this past week!

Both audiobooks were decent enough, I gave 3 and 3.25 stars respectfully.

The Butterfly Garden I gave FIVE STARS, and The Lies of The Ajungo I gave four stars.

I’m 100% going with whatever I feel like reading this month. These are on my radar for May, but I am not holding myself to anything this month… I am just going with the flow.

The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

This month I am not focusing on any of my challenges whatsoever and plan to read exactly whatever I feel like reading at that time. This is my plan for the entire month of May and I’m going to see how it goes.

I really like how this story is written, but it’s intense right from the start so I am taking my time with this one. Definitely creepy vibes! At the time of this post I am only 50 pages in, but thoroughly enjoying the book.

I am trying to alternate between genres this month, so I don’t get into a slump or anything. This is a short fantasy novel I saw on TikTok and knew I wanted to read. I borrowed the ebook from the library! I’m over halfway done with it and it’s such a great story!!!!

I have this ARC thanks to Novel Suspects, but I also borrowed the audiobook through Libby to dual read this one, and help myself keep up with my NetGalley shelf.

I posted my review on my blog, so check it out here. Four stars!

I binged this book so freaking hard! Another four star listen! Read my review here. Thanks Macmillan Audio Influencer Program!

I wanted to read some trashy erotic novel, to pallet cleanse in between all the fantasy and thrillers I’ve been reading. This was all spice and not a real good plot.

I put myself on the waiting list for this audiobook awhile back, and it was finally my turn to borrow it. I’m in the mood for a fantasy book so I’m digging right in!

This has been on my TBR for a little bit, and I borrowed a physical copy from my library. I am starting this one today after work!

Four stars!!!!!

I enjoyed this book. I thought some parts of it were a little long, but towards the end you know those slower parts were needed to wrap up the story nicely. None of the characters in the book were on my nerves so that’s always a plus in my book. I would recommend this book to my Instagram followers!

I absolutely love Karissa Vacker as a narrator. She was paired up nicely with Helen Laser, as they both did a great job with this book!

Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to listen to this ALC.

Definitely check your trigger warnings though.

The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

I borrowed the hardcover copy of Tress of The Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson from my library, to buddy read with the Fantasy Sickos Fable group (which I found through Michael Kist’s BookTok page).

I wanted to finish up this month with a Netgalley. This one came out last month and I’m just getting around to listening to it now. I enjoyed another book by Carola Lovering so that was why I requested it.

I was totally invested in the beginning of this book! The beginning is definitely creepy and thriller genre vibes. But as the story went on, I felt a little bit of each characters inner monologue was repetitive throughout the middle of the story, so I did some skim reading there. I was fine with the ending, it all wrapped up nicely. Overall I liked the book, it was a good read. Three stars!

I listened to books 2 through six of this Amazon Original Stories series. I actually liked all of these!

My genre tastes are all over the place… the life of a mood reader apparently LOL! My ARCs have gotten out of control thanks to Novel Suspects Insiders Club and the SMP Influencers Program!

I need a book cover with water on it for a challenge I am doing in April, and this is a book from my owned backlog. The beginning of the story has been interesting so far!

I am listening to this one for a book discussion at the end of the month for a Facebook group I am in. I am mostly going in blind to this one, so wish me luck!

I had requested this audiobook through Libby awhile back. The other day it was available to me to borrow. I binged the crap out of this one over the weekend! The one main character grated on my nerves about how she acted throughout the entire story, because it was to keep the twist of the plot a mystery for as long as possible, so I rated this one 3.5 stars on Storygraph because of that.

My genre tastes are all over the place… the life of a mood reader apparently LOL! These are all ARCs I want to get to this month, or at least ASAP. I’m actually doing a good job keeping up with my Netgalley backlog and TBR shelf.

The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

It was a busy week last week and I kept falling asleep the minute I jumped into bed, instead of reading. I am not far into the book as of the writing up of this post.

I was absolutely sucked in to the beginning of this story. The first chapter was so tense and heartbreaking at the same time! Then as the story goes on, it started to get boring and I didn’t care for the characters. The multiple POV didn’t bother me, it was needed for the story to work. I just felt the story took longer to develop than necessary and it wasn’t keeping my interest towards the end. I ended up rating this three stars on Storygraph.

Another Kiersten Modglin audiobook on Netgalley. Another great listen! KMod is my go to girl and I normally like all of her books! This book is multiple POV and I really liked the third narrator’s POV.

The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

I plan to start this one tonight, when I go relax and read.

I am almost done with this one and I was liking it, up until halfway through. Now the story is feeling disjointed and an overall trying to hard to be suspenseful. I should be done with this one by the end of the week.

I posted about this book yesterday. Was not a fan. Two stars.

Also not a fan of this one. I rated it one star on Storygraph. I am honestly not sure what I read, but it was absolutely not for me.

The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

I am definitely doing a really good job with keeping up with my Netgalley ARCs. I’m not to far in but so far the plot is hooking me in!

This is the second book in the Ryan Strickland series and I am here for it! I really like the character development of all the people in the story. The red herring a little bit before the halfway point of the story didn’t really get me. The twist was just twisty enough to be a good ending. Four stars!

I went into this audiobook blind and I was actually surprised at how much I liked it. The beginning was slow, but the plot needed to be laid out. There are a lot of characters and I like that the book took the time to go through each one in a non tedious way. The middle picked up and it really made me enjoy the book. I also ended up being okay with the narrator, even though I wasn’t a fan of all of the voices he chose to use for some of the characters (the main police detective is supposed to be from England and there wasn’t a real British-y accent). Four stars on Storygraph!

I wanted to read this in March and it didn’t really happen, so I’m moving it to next month.

The three W’s are: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you plan to read next?

I read the first book in this series last year, so when I saw this one was available on Netgalley I clicked on it right away. I’m almost done reading it and it’s definitely gonna end up being a four star read.

I saw a Tiktok about how to read this Villains series (and some other Disney books series too) and I said to myself ‘why not? I love villains!’ so I borrowed a copy from my library and BOOM, mood reading away I went!

I gave this one four stars on Storygraph. I liked the strong female detective, I was sucked into the plot, and since it’s a series of books I want to see where it’s all headed. The ending was eeehhhh to me, but it didn’t ruin my reading experience.

I thought this audiobook was… fine. It was too science heavy in places and it pulled me out of the story. It wasn’t as horror-ish as I thought it could of been, I think it’s more sci-fi to me. I didn’t dislike the book, but wasn’t over the moon over it either. Overall, an average book.

I saw this on Netgalley and though it sounded like a good book. After listening to it, I was definitely not a fan. I pretty much made myself listen to this book… and once I was more than halfway through it seemed to go okay, but then the last twenty percent was so slow! Two stars!

This is my next read. It publishes in April so I want to keep on top of my Netgalley books.

I saw this on Netgalley and though it sounded like a good book. I was approved and started this book yesterday. Today I cannot bring myself to even turn the audiobook on, so I’m not sure if I’m gonna stick this on the back burner for a little or just straight up DNF it.

Trying to keep up with my Netgalley ARCs, which I am actually doing a good job with this year, shocker I know! These are all slated to be read sooner rather than later.
